Welcome to Swami's Pics

Krishna, the Absolute Truth, is everywhere, in everything and in all living beings. With a little help from Sri Guru and the proper use of our God given intelligence this fact becomes revealed very clearly. A photo only captures a split second of our journey in life but often holds memories that are near and dear to the heart. Some of these moments and memories are being shared here in the spirit of sakhya-bhava and sadhu-sanga, maintaining friendship with devotees. Above all, Krishna is our dear most friend, well-wisher and eternal companion.

Here's how it works! Whenever I travel, go somewhere or do something interesting... afterward when I get around to it I'll post 6 to 10 images that represent the place or the experience. I won't say much... just let the pics do the better of the talking. The most current post is on the home page. To see previous posts just click on the name in the sidebar under 'Go To Swami's Pic Posts'. There you will find a variety of places and pics.

That's it, I hope you like it. To make sure you stay connected just sign up for either the Community, Subscribe to Posts, the E-mail Subscription, or subscribe to the Posts [Atom] at the very bottom of the page. When in doubt, just sign up for everything! Don't forget to tell a friend.

Note: I have decided to limit the number of back logged pics that I wanted to post to the site, so from here on its all about current happenings, new places, new faces and new experiences.

Jodhpur-Rajasthan

Portrait of a People

I am in Jodhpur, Rajasthan these days and have decided to shoot some portraits of the locals as they go about the market place conducting their business. These are indeed a vibrant people who like to express their joy for life in colorful dress — men with their flashy turbans and women in their colorful saris. Even the street kids in Jodhpur have their charm. Jodhpur is the place from which the writer Rudyard Kipling drew much of his inspiration for his stories such as The Jungle Book, Kim and The Man Who Would Be King. Jodhpur is truly an inspiration for writers and photographers alike. More pics may follow but that's it for now. Signing off from Jodhpur.
